MANISTEE COUNTY, MI - Troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) have arrested a man in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred on Jan. 5, 2023.

The incident took place at two locations in Manistee and Lake counties, police said. Following a lengthy investigation, an arrest warrant was authorized for 23-year-old Joshua Dekoekkoek of Irons.

On August 1, 2025, Dekoekkoek was arrested without incident and was booked into the Manistee County Jail, police said.

Dekoekkoek was arraigned on Aug. 3 in the 85th District Court in Manistee County on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with Force/Coercion in the Third Degree.

He was given a $10,000 cash surety bond, with his next scheduled court appearance set for 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 13.
