The Yankees have been going through it of late, dealing with backbreaking losses and a prolonged slide down the standings as their rivals have taken full advantage of their failures. For one night though, just about everything rolled in the Yankees’ favor, starting with a 5-4 win over the Astros in the Bronx thanks to Trent Grisham’s eighth-inning solo shot. David Bednar couldn’t quite hold onto the lead that Camilo Doval was doing his best to throw away, but he locked in to give them 1.2 innings again with just a walk against his record as he earned the win, and Giancarlo Stanton’s foray back into the outfield even went well as he went 1-2 with 2 RBI and got lifted for defense in the eighth.
