A new exhibit set to open in September at The Woody Guthrie Center, 102 E. Reconciliation Way, will provide a unique, close-up glimpse of the early days of artists whose radical work has helped shaped popular culture today.

“Burning Flags” is a collection of more than 50 images by photographer Glen E. Friedman, who captured pioneering figures in the world of hip-hop, hardcore punk rock and skateboarding at a time when these musical styles and athletic pursuit were seen as rebellious, even dangerous.

This will be the first U.S. showing of this exhibit, which previously was exhibited in Barcelona, Spain, and Paris, France.
