ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say one person is dead and two were injured in a wrong-way crash along I-95 on Saturday morning.

Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 11 a.m. on Saturday near mile marker 95 in Orangeburg County, which is between the exits to Bass Drive and Five Chop Road/SC-6 Connector.

Pye said a 2016 Honda sedan was heading north on I-95 when it collided head-on with a 2014 Ford pickup truck that was heading south in the northbound lanes.

Officials said the drivers of the Honda and Ford were taken to a local hospital. A passenger in the Honda ultimately died.
