WEST ALLIS, Wis. (WBAY) - Wisconsin State Fair officials announced Sunday’s closure was due to flash flooding from Saturday night.

The Wisconsin State Fair shared a Facebook post early Sunday morning saying, “We understand the disappointment you may feel as our team works all year for these 11 days. However, the safety of our Fairgoers, team, partners, and vendors will always be our top priority.”

The Wisconsin State Fair closed just before 9 p.m. Saturday and canceled a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert because of severe weather.

If you purchased tickets to The “Happy Together” Tour for the show Sunday evening through Etix, those tickets will be automatically refunded to the purchaser.
