Lovers of luxury and nostalgia can look forward to tucking into a stunning seven-course Christmas lunch while travelling at 70mph aboard one of the world’s poshest trains this festive season .

The 1930s Pullman-style Northern Belle – once part of the iconic Orient Express group – is heading back to our fair city this winter and will hark back to a bygone era of rail travel, with a red carpet even laid out for passengers while boarding.

The historic train is already set for two trips from Glasgow in August, including one to Oban, and then later in the year there is set to be two slap-up Christmas Lunch trips.

As guests enjoy champagne and their canapes, including caviar blinis, the steam train will meander through the countryside after setting out from Glasgow Central on November 29
