A man died after a stabbing at John Champion Park in Reno late Saturday Aug. 9.

About 10:50 p.m., Reno police responded to the park at 957 Kuenzli St., near the Truckee River just west of Kietzke Lane, for a reported medical emergency. They found an adult man with stab wounds and began life-saving measures until REMSA arrived and took him to a local hospital where he died.

The suspect has not been identified and remains at large.

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name after notifying family.
