Dearborn — A first-of-its-kind assessment of public health needs in Dearborn has found child poverty, air quality, pollution and mental health are some of the key issues facing residents, and officials want to use the information, which they hope to keep tracking, to guide policy decisions.
The city surveyed 1,127 Dearborn residents online and conducted focus groups with populations including caregivers, young and older adults, and people with disabilities.
The results of the assessment, released in late July, identified environmental health; mental and behavioral health; child and maternal health; and community health resources, education and literacy as key priorities in Dearborn.
