REMBERT — The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after the bodies of two women were located in a rural part of the County.
Deputies responded to a rural road in the Rembert area of Sumter County on Aug. 8, according to a news release posted to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page . They found the bodies of two women who appear to have died by “suspicious” circumstances.
Their bodies will be transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, where they will undergo autopsies to determine the cause and manner of their deaths, according to the sheriff’s office.
Law enforcement is asking that anyone with information on the deaths call the sheriff’s office at 803-436-2000 or submit an anonymous tip online .
