PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A man is dead after a shooting in Portsmouth on Sunday evening.

At approximately 6:18 p.m., Portsmouth Police responded to a call for a shooting in the 2300 block of Victory Boulevard at the Victory Village apartment complex. On arrival, officers found 20-year-old Kendall Lamont Llanos unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Detectives with the PPD Major Crimes Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect, described as a Black male with a lighter complexion. He is believed to weigh between 150 and 160 pounds and stand between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen fleeing the scene wearing a green and white short-sleeved shirt and light-colored jeans.
