CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - A multi-county investigation led by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has helped uncover a high-end auto parts theft operation spanning three mid-Michigan communities.

In a post on Facebook , the sheriff’s office said it was investigating an unrelated incident in Sheridan Township. During the investigation, deputies said they saw a suspicious vehicle in the area.

The deputies made contact with the driver, who said they recently acquired the vehicle.

Shortly after, deputies confirmed with the registered owner of the vehicle that it had been stolen without their knowledge. A second stolen vehicle from the same owner was located on the same property.
