LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -Community members in Owosso got the chance to come together on Sunday for the Currwood Festival Duck Race.
Every year, the race takes place to help raise funds for a good cause, and this year all proceeds went to Owosso public schools to help build a brand new all-inclusive playground at the Bryant school.
Morgan Roka, who is part of the festival’s board, talked about why this event is so important to the Owosso community.
“It’s a Curwood tradition, it’s been going on forever,” said Roka. “So it’s just one of the ways community members can get involved in Owosso, and part of the history in Owosso.”
Each duck was, and prizes were given out to the first 5 ducks that crossed the finish line.
