KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Police Department is investigating after one man was stabbed on Sunday evening.

According to officials, the incident happened in the 2800 block of Wabash Avenue at around 5:35 p.m. Authorities arrived and made contact with a victim who advised that a suspect stabbed him. The suspect fled the scene.

EMS transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later updated to be in stable condition.

Officers later identified a subject of interest, and adult male, and detained him for further investigation at a separate location.

No further information has been released. This is an ongoing investigation.
