EDWARDS ( 25News Now ) - Despite the rainy weather, around 350 people came out to the Kickpoo Creek Festival at Sommer Park in Edwards from Aug. 8, 9, and 10.
The Friends of Rocky Glen President Dave Pittman, said the water quality of the 300 square miles long watershed can improve by reducing nitrogen and phosphate pollution, and minimizing soil erosion.
“Everybody is involved with the rain and the snow that comes into the ground and goes through Kickpoo Creek,” said Pittman. “We as people are all a part of it, we both are all a part of the problem and the solution.”
He also said families can make a difference by using less lawn chemicals, and planting deep-rooted native grasses.
