HENDERSON, KY. (WFIE) - It was another busy day at Ellis Park, where the racing action was fast and furious, all day, Sunday. It was the single, biggest day, of their summer meet: “Ellis Park Derby Day”.

Six big stakes races were on the card, and the first one, was for the young horses: the $200,000 Ellis Park Debutante. This one went seven furlongs, on the dirt, for 2 year old fillies. Keep an eye on these horses, as they could go on, to do some big things, in the future.

It was a 6-horse field, and all of these fillies have broken their maiden, meaning they have all won a race, already. So a good showing in this one, could mean their owners, decide to test them, in bigger stakes races down the road.
