BAILEYVILLE, Maine (WABI) - Mainers on the inland are expected to face swelting heat over the next few days.

The high temperatures could be a fuel for wildfires in some areas. We’re already getting reports of wildfires in our state.

Maine Forest Rangers posting on Facebook about a wildfire in Baileyville on Sunday.

Around 10 Sunday night, they say rangers and fire departments were still on scene off Track road. They expect it to be a multi-day effort.

They add at the time, the 21 acre fire was zero-percent contained.

Crews are working to put a line around the fire with heavy equipment.

Several areas across the state have been placed in a category of ‘high’ on the Maine Forest Service fire danger rating system .
