BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Heat and humidity will be the theme for the first half of our week as high pressure is centered just to our south. This will pump hot and humid air into New England for today, tomorrow and Wednesday. A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for inland and northern locales through Tuesday evening for the potential to see heat index values reach the mid to upper 90s during the afternoon hours. For the same reason... we’ve issued a FIRST ALERT for inland and northern locales through Wednesday. Heat related illnesses such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion can set in very easily with conditions like this.
