LOGAN — Motorists traveling through Logan Canyon this week should expect traffic delays as ranchers move over 1,300 head of cattle across U.S. Highway 89.
According to the Logan Ranger District, the cattle drive will take place daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning today and running through Friday, Aug. 15. The cattle will be moved in groups of 300 to 400 at various locations between the cattle guard below Twin Creek and Bunchgrass Creek.
Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution, especially during the evening and night hours, to avoid encounters with any stray cattle. The canyon is known for its steep curves, and the presence of livestock will require extra vigilance from motorists.
