Assault charge

On Aug. 9 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Belleville Police attended an apartment complex in the city’s west end regarding a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a resident was struck by another male resident, following a verbal altercation. As a result of the investigation, a 56-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
