WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (WFSB) - A teen was hurt by a sweeper bar at a bowling alley in Windsor Locks on Sunday.
According to police, they responded to the Spare Time bowling alley on Elle Grasso Turnpike around 4:20 p.m.
A report told them that a 16-year-old was trapped in one of the bowling alley’s lanes.
Police said that it looked like the teen tried to clear the lane when the sweeper bar came down and pinned the teen on the lane.
They said the teen was unable to escape from the bar’s weight. Due to the pressure, the teen’s breathing became restricted, which resulted in a loss of consciousness.
Police said other employees raised the bar manually; however, the 16-year-old remained unresponsive with only a faint pulse and shallow breathing.
The teen was transported to Hartford Hospital.
