Surely not another acquittal in a lengthy history of criminal assault against women in Canadian hockey?
Sarah Paciocco, a sexual assault and abuse crisis counsellor at Women in Crisis Algoma commented: “My concern is that because of the verdict, it’s going to end up getting kind of just forgotten about, that it was all a big misunderstanding and they didn’t do anything wrong. And that’s actually something really dangerous. We were really, really disappointed to hear the verdict.”
