Extra! Extra! The team behind Broadway's popular The Newstand Coffee & Sandwiches is going on the record with a new project, The Dispatch. The upcoming neighborhood café from local entrepreneurs Dez Rodriguez and Page Pressley will bring coffee and light lunch to McCombs Plaza (755 E. Mulberry Ave.) by the end of 2025.

The café riffs on the idea of newspaper dispatches, stories meant to give a sense of place from boots-on-the-ground reporting. Pressley says the small shop will continue The Newstand's locally-driven approach.

"A key point is [that] The Dispatch's menu has an increased focus on seasonality and sourcing unique local and regional ingredients that may have a shorter season, as well as a daily rotating variety of unique and rare single-origin coffees," shares Pressley via em
