A motorbiker was left with potentially serious injuries following a collision with a car in Nuneaton . 999 calls were made to report the emergency on the bridge on Gipsy Lane last night (August 10).

Warwickshire Police closed off the road from its junction with Coventry Road at around 7.30pm. West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance to the scene.

Medics found the motorbiker, who has not been identified but is a man, with potentially serious injuries. He was treated at the scene before being taken to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“We were called at 7.30pm on Sunday to a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a car on Gipsy Lane Bridge in Nuneaton. One ambulance attended the scene," a WMAS spokesperson said.
