EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The City of Evansville will celebrate all things local on Monday, August 12, in honor of 812 Day, named for the city's area code.

From neighborhood cleanups and park unveilings to coffee, donuts, and giveaways, the City says 812 Day is an invitation to show pride in Evansville and the people who make it home.

“812 Day is about celebrating who we are,” said Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry. “It’s about lifting up the neighborhoods we live in, the parks where we gather, and the local businesses that power our economy. It’s about reminding ourselves, through service, creativity, and joy, that Evansville is a place worth celebrating, and a place we’re proud to call home.”

Events for the day include:

Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanup in Goosetown, 9:00–11:00 a.m.
