NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A wave moving west through the Gulf of Mexico will continue to bring moisture back to our area for the first half of the week. This will lead to better rain chances over the next couple of days.

Expect showers and storms along the coast and offshore Monday morning that will begin to spread inland through the day. However this activity will likely stay spotty with overall chances around 40-50%. The best rain chance looks to be on the south shore.

Higher rain chances of around 50-60% spread in for Tuesday and Wednesday. We will be seeing showers and storms popping up and moving west. It still doesn't look like a big widespread batch of rain at any point.

Temperatures will top out around 90 through Wednesday and then be hotter later in the week.
