LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The City of Lansing is updating its Non-Motorized Transportation Plan and is seeking input from the community.

This plan outlines a network of sidewalks, bike lanes, trails, and corridors that connect people to neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and other key destinations.

Project goals include:

Promoting transportation options that reduce emissions

Improving connections between neighborhoods, shopping centers, and workplaces

Enhancing safety at intersections and crossings for people of all ages and abilities

Expanding and upgrading bikeways, trails, and signage to make travel easier

Increasing access to Lansing’s parks and recreational amenities

Identifying programs and events that encourage walking, biking, and transit use
