NELSON, Neb. (KSNB) - The South Central Public Power District said Monday morning that less than 350 customers are still without power.

This number is down from an estimated 1,500 customers originally without power.

The district called in mutual aid from the Southern Public Power District to help replace cables.

Crews have been repairing lines since the storms damaged an estimated 10 miles of cable.

“There was a 4-mile stretch where all the poles and lines were down,” said Lisa Peterson, public relations manager for the district. “At this point, we think we’d probably have 200 plus broken poles and around 10 miles of either damaged or downed line.”
