JEFFERSON CITY — A five-way Democratic primary is brewing in the race to replace term-limited state Sen. Brian Williams in north St. Louis County’s 14th district.
With Williams set to challenge for St. Louis County executive, former Rep. John Bowman is scheduled to formally kick off his campaign with an announcement Tuesday.
Others vying to win the Aug. 4, 2026 primary include Rep. Raychel Proudie of Ferguson, Rep. Doug Clemens of St. Ann, former Biden administration aide Joe Palm of University City and Shante Duncan, a consultant.
The district includes Ferguson, Hazelwood, Overland and University City and is home to St. Louis Lambert International Airport and the University of Missouri–St. Louis. The district includes some areas of wealth and some of the poorest cities in the state
