After a full 24 hours of celebrating the contributions of various women in his life, Mr. Doerksen of La Crete is relieved to be going back to normal life and celebrating men for the next 364 days.

“Oba, that was the toughest 24 hours of my life,” said Mr. Doerksen. “All day long, whether my wife prepared faspa or swept the floor or got up early to get the kids ready for school, I had to say ‘danksheen, Martha.’ It was a bit much.”

Doerksen says he also expresses his gratitude towards Martha on Mother’s Day and her birthday.

“Plus our anniversary if I remember,” said Doerksen. “It’s getting to be that there are hardly any days left to celebrate men anymore.”
