At approximately 1:30 a.m. on August 9, police were made aware of a single vehicle collision on the southbound portion of the Anthony Henday Drive near the Highway 14 overpass.

A Chevrolet Cruze reportedly struck a light standard and caught fire. The 23-year-old driver of the vehicle was pulled from the car by witnesses and lifesaving measures were attempted. Sadly, he died on scene.

Police recieved reports of a suspect vehicle travelling north in the southbound lanes of the Henday and was believed to have caused the collision.
