ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens has named new leadership for the city’s Department of Public Works (DPW).
Dickens on Monday announced that Cyril Turner will serve as the next commissioner of the department and Eugene McKinnie will serve as the deputy commissioner.
Turner and McKinnie will start work on Thursday, Aug. 14.
DPW is responsible for collecting solid waste and recycled materials, and for overseeing the city’s fleet of around 5,800 motorized vehicles. It also manages the Keep Atlanta Beautiful Commission and initiatives like Operation Clean Sweep .
