FORT WORTH, Texas — Three dogs seized in connection with the death of an 82-year-old man have been released after a judge ruled there was insufficient evidence linking them to the fatal attack, according to defense attorneys representing the owner of the dogs.
Ronald Anderson was found dead inside his home near Eagle Mountain Lake in June with bite marks. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office determined he died from a canine mauling.
Anderson, described by neighbors as kind and fiercely independent despite his age, was working in his backyard when the attack occurred. Neighbor Barry Witherell, who knew Anderson well, said the loss was devastating.
