ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — The Rogers Public Schools District is introducing a new community-based initiative it's calling a "community first approach."

According to Rogers Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Jeff Perry, there are around 100,000 people in the community, consisting of Rogers, Little Flock, Garfield, and Lowell. Perry said only around 10% of those people have a child in the school district.

The other 90% of people without a direct tie to the district are paying taxes without getting a benefit from the actual school system. Perry said the new initiative will change that.
