GREENLAND, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Greenland School District officials discuss August 11 how free breakfast benefits its students following the passing of Act 123 in the Arkansas Legislature.

In recent years, the Greenland School District has provided free breakfast and lunch to students. Now, the new legislation may offer extra financial support to help cover the cost of breakfast.

"With that help, obviously we were footing the bill for that through our federal lunch program, through our Provision 2 services," Superintendent Dr. Andrea Martin said. "But, now with the Arkansas Legislature being able to provide that for us and making that decision and putting kids first, it's definitely going to help in our budget."
