LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Our pattern remains largely the same as we head over the course of the next 48 hours as our tropical wave continues to move to our west.

We’re getting a ice break from the widespread showers and storms as you are heading out the door this morning, but keep the rain gear handy as we are looking at additional rain and storms through the afternoon.

Heavy rainfall will be the biggest concern with any of the downpours and storms that develop along with frequent lightning.

Temperatures are warming through the day as well with partly cloudy skies allowing us to reach to the lower 90s. Humidity will be a big concern as well with heat index values climbing into the triple digits.
