IKEA announced plans to open its first Alabama store on Tuesday morning. The store will be located in Huntsville, at the University Place Shopping Center.

The company said it plans to open the new store in early 2026.

Nashville, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama are online pick-up locations only.

The new Huntsville location will be slightly closer to Chattanooga than the Atlanta one. It will be about five miles closer, but could potentially save travelers more time, depending on traffic conditions.

IKEA's Huntsville store will be located at 6125 University Place Drive, not far from Interstate 565.

The Huntsville store will be 46,000 square-feet, containing 5,000 products on display, with 2,000 of them ready to take home, according to IKEA.
