After days of summer swelter, New Jersey residents can expect more of the same with a minor break in the week ahead but a longer reprieve later in the month.
Sunny skies are in store for most of Aug. 12, with high temperatures in the low 90s, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Silvia. A chance of thunderstorms, between 40% and 50%, is expected Aug. 13 and 14, with highs in the upper 80s.
Conditions are forecast to turn mostly sunny again Aug. 15 and into the weekend, with highs remaining in the upper 80s.
The sustained stretch of heat won’t break until the weekend of Aug. 21, according to AccuWeather. Temperatures that weekend are expected to reach only the upper 70s, offering relief after what forecasters say will be an August dominated by highs in the upper 80s.
