The Battle Creek Police Department is reminding the community of resources available for those in unsafe situations following a domestic dispute that escalated into gunfire Thursday, Aug. 7.
Battle Creek police were called to the 100 block of Mosher Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 7, after a report of shots fired and a bullet entering a nearby home. Officers determined the gunfire came from a residence where a 37-year-old woman and her 34-year-old husband had been arguing.
"As the woman attempted to leave, the man blocked her path, pulled out a gun and fired toward two vehicles in the driveway in an attempt to disable them and prevent her from leaving," the police department said in a statement.
