BERRYVILLE, Ark. (KY3) - Anyone near Carroll County, Arkansas, might want to make a stop to hear an important lesson about scams.

Carroll County Sheriff Daniel Klatt says his office has been seeing an increasing number of scams popping up all over the county, from online to phone scams and even door-to-door solicitations.

“We’ve seen everything from people calling, checking jail rosters of jails,” Sheriff Klatt said, “calling families and saying, ‘If you pay this amount of money, we’ll let them out of jail on an ankle bracelet,’ or something which is not true. The most concerning thing, though, that we’re seeing is people are physically showing up at people’s houses and collecting money, which is quite a concern and is quite a step up from what we’ve seen in the past.”
