CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A deputy with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office has been arrested for alleged insurance fraud, according to Louisiana State Police.

Officials with LSP say on Aug. 11, the deputy, Frank Launer III, 50, of Blanchard, was arrested.

LSP’s investigation started back in May when investigators got reports from the Louisiana Department of Insurance claiming Launer had committed auto insurance fraud. Investigators say in April, Launer was in a car wreck while he was driving his uninsured car.

Officials say after the wreck, Launer contacted at insurance company to get coverage for his car, then reported the wreck to the company later that same day.

Launer was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for automobile insurance fraud.
