INDIANAPOLIS (WTWO/WAWV)— Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita recently launched Operation Robocall Roundup to crack down on robocalls nationwide.
The operation will be a multiscale effort being run by the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force that the Attorney General's Office co-leads. The task force is currently sending warning letters to 37 voice providers demanding that they act now to stop illegal robocalls from being routed through their networks.
The providers who have been targeted in these letters are ones that have not complied with the FCC rules regarding responding to government traceback requests, registered in the FCC's Robocall Mitigation Databases, or haven't filed a plan that describes how they will reduce illegal robocalls on their network.
