MACKINAW CITY, MI – A man from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is facing charges after skipping the toll at the Mackinac Bridge and leading police on a high-speed chase, WPBN/WGTU reports .

The 21-year-old from Laurium, Houghton County, is expected to be charged with third-degree fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, malicious destruction of property (police vehicle), failure to pay a toll, and speeding, the report said.

He is accused of going through the southbound Mackinac Bridge toll booth without paying around 2 a.m. today, the report said. The toll is $4 for a passenger vehicle.
