OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Law enforcement arrested Rickey Knotts, a suspect accused of kidnapping a child in Ouachita Parish and forcing them to hide during search and rescue efforts.

Knotts was arrested on August 12 on charges of simple kidnapping, cruelty to a juvenile, and false imprisonment.

On July 22, law enforcement started looking for a child who had not come home after riding an ATV with Knotts.

The child was found on July 23 at around 4:30 a.m., flagging a family member down from the side of the road.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office said Knotts had been seen hiding in a nearby fiel
