DENVER (KDVR) -- Clear Creek County is in a Stage 1 Fire Ban for all unincorporated areas as of noon Tuesday.

The fire ban, which the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday will remain in effect until further notice, restricts residents from smoking outdoors, shooting firearms outside of legal hunting activities, and "all other outdoor spark or flame-producing activities."

Under the ban, residents are also prohibited from selling, possessing or discharging any type of fireworks or pyrotechnic devices, as well as igniting, building, maintaining, attending or using any open fire as defined in Ordinance No. 16.
