GRAND FORKS — Agristo, the Belgian potato processing giant eyeing Grand Forks for its first U.S. location, plans to close on a parcel of land in the city by the end of the month.
At Monday night’s Grand Forks City Council meeting, City Administrator Todd Feland also reported that Agristo filed with the federal Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States in mid-July. Now, the city and Agristo are working to finalize a development agreement, on which Feland said the two parties are “largely aligned.”
“The important part is they’re moving forward,” Feland said.
Agristo and its $450 million potato processing plant will take up residence on the so-called Fufeng land in the city’s north-end agribusiness corridor off of Gateway Drive.
