An overnight shooting in Birmingham left one man dead and another injured.
North Precinct officers responded at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday to a Shot Spotter alert in the 900 block of Fifth Avenue North. Multiple shots had been fired.
When they arrived, they found the two victims inside a vehicle that had been struck by the gunfire, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
Quindarius Marteze Allen, 26, was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:35 a.m.
The second victim sustained life-threatening injuries.
Fitzgerald said investigators believe the suspect or suspects approached the vehicle while the victims were sitting inside and opened fire.
No arrests have been made.
Allen is Birmingham’s 50th homicide this year, and the third since Friday.
