Attorney General of Ontario Doug Downey recently announced the appointment of Justice Isabel Blanchard, who has been assigned to the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Effective Wednesday, Blanchard is among seven individuals who have been newly appointed as judges across the province.

Serving as the assistant Crown attorney for the Cornwall Crown attorney’s office, Blanchard has prosecuted a wide range of cases, both in the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. She first joined the Cornwall Crown attorney’s office in 2010 and was often the only officially designated bilingual assistant Crown attorney in the city.
