BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) - MDI Biological Laboratory, along with other schools across the country, is facing challenges with federal funding.
Some programs rely heavily on these funds to give young adults access to free or affordable research opportunities.
“At the moment, we don’t know really what the goals of the new administration’s are in science. So, there’s a lot of uncertainty about how science funding will develop,” said Hermann Haller, the president of MDI Biological Laboratory.
Currently, certain programs and research at MDI Bio Lab are at risk with NIH funding on hold.
