ST. GEORGE, Maine (WABI) - It’s a day students and staff at one Midcoast school have been waiting three years for.

St. George Municipal School has been partnering with the Mid-Coast School of Technology in Rockland to develop a Career Technical Education program and build a CTE/Makerspace building.

Thursday evening they unveiled GRACE Innovation Center to the community.

The newly constructed building, which is adjacent to the school, will be used for woodworking, metalwork, boatbuilding, and more.

More than $4.5 million was raised for the project which has received national and state recognition.

Members of Maine’s Congressional Delegation were big supporters too, including Representative Chellie Pingree who was in attendance tonight.
