WASHINGTON — As the Trump administration takes control of D.C.'s police department in an effort to fight violent crime, U.S. Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro pushed back on anyone who pointed to crime being down .
Following President Donald Trump's announcement Monday that the Metropolitan Police Department would be under federal control under Section 740 of the Home Rule Act , D.C. leaders pointed to statistics that show crime in D.C. is on a downward trajectory.
